Foundational lyrics

Smog

"she asked me if I’d feed her and ride her now and then. No no no no no no. I break horses. I don’t tend to them."

On repeat all day. All the awards to Bill. All.

Winter exposes the nests and I’m gone

"Why’s everybody looking at me like there’s something fundamentally wrong?
Like I’m a southern bird
That stayed north too long”

the Well

I guess everybody has their own thing that they yell into a well.  I gave it a couple hoots, a hello and a “fuck all y’all!”

"A River Ain’t too Much to Love"- Smog

I’m of the mind that this album is perfection.  To me, it is just a matter of fact.  I have been searching, both online and at every record store I go to, to find it on vinyl.

Rob can attest, when I just flipped through the “S” section and found the record, I squealed and might have kissed the album sleeve!

It’s perfect music for this crisp pre-Fall day.

Perfect.

Vinyl shopping WIN!!!!!!!!

Rob and I stopped by AKA today.

Picked up the WILD FLAG debut & Smog’s “A River Ain’t Too Much To Love!!!”

I have been looking for this Smog album for years!

Wonderful!

Bill Callahan- amazing song.

River Guard

"Death defying
Every breath
Death defying”

Study night replay

Instead of reading for my Leadership class, I made breakfast for dinner. I watched Oprah (holy shit y’all! That was an actual honest to goodness secret!.. I expected something silly) and I played with Truvy for a bit.

Finally I got down to business and read both articles while I played a few records— Desire “II”, Diamond Rings “Special Affections”, and Smog “Knock Knock.” Now I’m sitting and listening Superchunk’s “Foolish” on my Itunes.

My brain is soooooo dead! I think I might read more of “Just Kids”. I am loving Patti Smith so much.
